A New Hacker in the Family
Things have been awful quiet at this blog for the longest stretch without posts since we began over 9 years ago.
There’s a big (well, tiny) reason for that.
Baby Nora was born in the past month, our third daughter. The 5-year-old and 2-year-old are thrilled each day to have a new sister to introduce to the world. And I’m thrilled at One Last Chance to use baby Star Wars apparel before we give them away to other nerd parents.
Baby and my spouse are doing great. Thank you for your well-wishes and prayers.
Looking forward
As for me, I’ve been on paternity leave and learned a long time ago that sleep deprivation and blogging don’t go well together–so my writing is coming a lot slower as my energies are (rightly) in a different place!
As an extrovert, this blog is where I bring forth the thoughts in my head for the community to help me reason through. There’s a lot in the pipeline, but I didn’t want to jump right into them without an explanation of “where I’ve been.”
The first blog post in *forever* is tomorrow. See you then. ~Jeremy

Congratulations! Much joy to you and your family!

Question: You often talk about “we” on this site. Is this the royal we? Or is there someone else I’m unaware of.
UMJeremy
This site has one regular blogger (me) and 2-3 dozen guest contributors over the years. I use the royal “we” to emphasize their contribution, but also how much I am shaped by the community and how we do this work together.
Thanks for asking.
