SynchBlog Day on 4/4 – Who Called You? #Explo13 #UMC

Explo13

Next Thursday is a synchblog of ordained, commissioned, and local pastors and ministry professionals who are responding to the question “Who called you on the journey of ministry?” While it is obviously God who calls people, there are others who helped along the way and that’s who our group will be writing about on April 4th.

The purpose? To raise awareness and stoke interest for young adults to attend Exploration 2013 in Denver this coming November. Here’s a brief summary:

Registration is open for Exploration 2013 in Denver, Colo., an event for young adults age 18-26 to hear, discern, and respond to God’s call to ordained ministry in The United Methodist Church. Featured speakers will include Bishop Cynthia Fierro Harvey and the Rev. Jorge Acevedo.

“If you think God might be calling you to ordained ministry, if you wondered what ordained ministry in the UMC looks like, or you want to be with other people who are sifting through these issues as well, this gathering is for you,” said the Rev. James “Trip” Lowery, the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry’s Director of Young Adult Ministry, Discernment, and Enlistment. The event, scheduled for Nov. 15-17, is held every other year and sponsored by GBHEM.

If you would like to join the Synchblog, here’s the form to sign up.

Here’s more information on Exploration 2013.

Hope folks can participate and attend this great event!

An outstanding share! I have just forwarded this onto a co-worker who had been doing a little research on this.
And he actually ordered me breakfast because I discovered it for him.
.. lol. So let me reword this…. Thank YOU for the meal!
! But yeah, thanks for spending some time to discuss this topic here on your blog.
