Similar to the Facebook 101 class (which I just linked to because WordPress 3.1 does better page linking now…wee!), I have a “Church History in One Hour” class that I taught Confirmands this past weekend that I am tweaking for distribution.
In the class, I framed the history of the church in terms of the relationship between the Empire and the Church (sometimes antithetical, sometimes hand-in-hand, sometimes both). It *was* an excuse to use Star Wars imagery (rebels v. empire) but worked well to frame the conversation.
Anywho, I was inspired while writing it by this video of NT Wright talking about the Gospel and the Empire. It’s excellent. (h/t friend on facebook)
Look for the presentation soon but in the meantime, any thoughts on the video?
