I have shared that video many times and while it’s funny…it’s really quite sad. Why? Because there are churches that are, more or less, a lot like that. Worship isn’t about God anymore, it’s more about us. It’s about whether or not we have worship at the right time/hour, whether we have a choir, band, or both-I mean I used to work in a church that had millions of dollars in their foundation just for music. The choir/music director was making as much as the pastor who was tenured and about to retire.
Anyway, I think it’s a ‘snapshot’ of what worship has become for too many churches. It’s a sad truth and a scary reality…
